report as inappropriateThis was an absolutely lovely day. We visited three different wineries, with a picnic lunch at the second one (the weather cooperated). It was a bagged lunch, but quite delicious. We had some time at a local farmer's market, where we got an extra dessert of yummy doughnuts. The bus was large, clean and comfortable and we were suitably entertained during the ride. I imagine that some groups could get boisterous (especially after the actual wine tastings got underway), but our bus was well-behaved although lively. It was also decorated for the holidays which made it even more festive.
report as inappropriateMeet mid-town NYC, nice bus ride upstate, visited three winery/vineyards, be prepared to drink wine all day and enjoy
report as inappropriateThe event was a lot of fun and organized...
The Good: Liked the bus ride out to the sites. The vineyards were gorgeous and produced great wine. The food selection was nice. So you know what to expect and know you won't be hungry: cheese, crackers, grapes, apple butter, sandwiches, salad, HOT pasta, and cookies (apple butter was to die for!). Everybody was super friendly on the tour and not in the typical 'New Yorker' mood...no stress was on the bus.
The Just OK: although it was nice to have our dollar stretched, the day got a little long. Instead of 3 vineyards it honestly needs to stop at 2. Like for real... By the third, you're just drinking the wine because it's there and you're very tired. I personally didn't care about what they were giving me to drink... You just want to go home.
The host was very nice, but a little loud at times...you want to leave high-energy NYC back in the city.Overall: Although it was long, it's so worth the excursion. It's worth the time away to unwind, relax, meet nice people, and drink great wine. You'll be happy that you did. * perfect for a birthday, girl time, or date. :)*
report as inappropriateIt was a really fun day. Beautiful locations, great people. We visited 3 wineries, had lunch outside (it was a little chilly but sunny!). The people at the wineries were very nice. Nice group of people on the bus. Nobody really misbehaved! The bus driver, Tai, was wonderful! The tour guide was not the friendliest -- same sentiment from everybody, but she was nice to my friend and I... Wish she had explained more about the region, trees, as I have never been to the Hudson Valley, and I think she lives up there..
