Written on Oct 09 2012Sandy Brown is incredible!!!!! This is the Best one woman show I have ever seen!!!....It is a MUST! MUST! MUST! see!!!
Written on Sep 27 2012Great performance! Ms. Brown is a very talented woman. She convincingly breathes life into a handful of very different characters, and does so with passion! Entertaining, informative, and even (dare I say it?) educational. The actor/friend I went with said this was the best one-person show she has seen in many years. Highly recommend. Bravo!
Written on Sep 11 2012What I really liked about this event was that it was a great history lesson. I knew most of the characters that were portrayed, but I learned things about each of them that I didn't know. Sandy Brown did a wonderful job engaging the audience as she played each character to perfection. I enjoyed this event immensely.
Written on Sep 10 2012Great show from a talented and evocative performer. I learned, and wondered and laughed. This is part one of a continuing series, the next installment due about January.
Written on Sep 06 2012Sandy Brown is outstanding. This play is a must-see.
Written on Sep 05 2012This show is a MUST SEE! The acting and presentation was absolutely powerful, educational and thought provoking. I would love to see it again and again, especially if more characters are added. Sandra Brown is incredibly intelligent, a marvelous actress and an amazing beauty. I hope this play returns soon!
Written on Sep 04 2012The best play I have ever been to what a true honor it was and I am screaming for more more more
Written on Sep 03 2012A brilliantly written and executed performance. It was highly professional, informative and impassioned. History came alive as Sandy Brown became these dynamic women, each one different and each one worthy of being seen and heard.
Written on Sep 03 2012Significant bits of history delivered in "tasty bite size vignettes". Sandy Brown's performance was stellar!
Written on Sep 03 2012Sandy Brown's performance was outstanding from the very start. She is very talented, kept the audience entertained and taught everyone a interesting lesson in history. However, some of the segments were too long. The play is a bit lengthy. Good thing the shows are on the weekend, but I suggest attending the afternoon performance. I went to the 8pm performance. The theater kept everyone waiting outside until performance time and because of that it did not start as scheduled. The show was over two hours long and intermission was about 9:30pm. At that point I was too tired and ready to leave, which I did.
Written on Sep 03 2012Sandy Brown is extraordinarily talented! A great time was had by all!
Written on Aug 28 2012One of the best plays I have attended in years (better than plays at the Ahmanson) Extremely gifted and talented actress. Pkay is ready for Broadway.
Written on Aug 28 2012As an African-American, I've learned even more information about "Black History". Of course we don't learn the whole truth (or the truth for that matter) in our school's so this was very informative. I will share this event with my ladies group.
Written on Aug 27 2012This is my second time seeing Ms. Brown's performance in her outstanding one woman show.
As I told her, she is definitely Broadway bound!
The show is excellent.
Written on Aug 27 2012Wonderful actress!
Written on Aug 27 2012this was an informative show about african-american women who made a difference for our country. i being white learned some stuff i didn't know. the show was great. it was moving, touching and deep. the actress who portrayed these women did a great job changing from one character to another within a couple of minutes. go to this show and enjoy
Written on Aug 27 2012Sandra Brown does an amazing job combining history, drama and comedy to beautifully portray a number of famous women. Moving, touching and educational two hours.
Written on Aug 27 2012This is a wonderful one-woman show! As an educator, I want to bring all of my students to attend. They will learn more in this show than in any textbook. My only problem was the technical side of things. The sound was awful, and the tech support was talking during the show and not cuing the correct scene for Sandy's next vignette. Other than that, this show is awesome!
Written on Aug 20 2012Great performace. Sandy is super talented. She transport u thru time and lets u know upclose the history of each individual character.
Written on Aug 20 2012Absolutely fantastic! It went from compelling to riveting and stayed there for the entire two plus hour show. Sandy Brown's talents are beyond impressive. It is worth seeing again and again. This very important show embodies all that theater is supposed to do.
Written on Aug 20 2012There were significant technical difficulties the night I attended but the play was still thoroughly researched and exceedingly well performed. I do wonder if even without the problems if the lengthy photo montages between portrayals doesn't slow down the momentum between characterizations.
Written on Aug 14 2012This is a must see event, Sandy is absolutely brilliant and a fabulous entertainer.
I highly recommend everyone see this great show, it is amazing and one can really learn a lot about American History. Bring your family and friends you will not regret it.
Written on Aug 13 2012What an engaging way to share history and illuminate the facts. The Greenway is a nice venue.
Written on Aug 13 2012This was my second time viewing this production and I brought friends because I just want as many people as possible to enjoy Sandy Brown's fabulous performance!
Written on Aug 13 2012A great show, educational and entertaining.
Written on Aug 13 2012Excellent performance!
Written on Aug 13 2012Ms. Sandy Brown does an outstanding job of presenting significant history for ALL people in an entertaining one woman show that simply astounded me! Well worth seeing for all of us. Go!!!
Written on Aug 13 2012Delightful show by a very talented actress. We learned a lot and Sandy's portrayals of these wonderful women was excellent. The film clips were good too, but after the clips were finished, there was too much "wait time" between the clip and Sandy coming out to portray a new character. Since she needs the time to transform herself in to her new character, perhaps longer film clips would help.
Written on Aug 13 2012great, wonderful, really excited to tell other people...incredibly acting...I will try to get a group together for support..maybe the January showing. worthy of awards, awards, awards....
Written on Aug 13 2012Amazing writing, acting and stamina. She should have a sold out house every night. Get your tickets now!
Written on Aug 13 2012Excellent!!! Gotta go see it again! Sandy Brown is brilliant.
Written on Aug 13 2012The first act included Phyllis Wheatley, Harriet Tubman, Madam CJ Walker, and Harriet Tubman. It was wonderful to learn about each historical figure with such detail. My only criticism is that the play should start at 7 pm instead of 8, or they should consider cutting some of the impersonations. The intermission was around 9:35, and we were told that the second-act included four more impersonations. We left the show at that point during intermission because we did not want to stay past 11 pm for the remaining performances/second act.

- “Ms. Brown is herself a pioneer of today, forging her own artistic creation ... in a town full of celebrities ... she herself is breaking new ground." —The Examiner
- "I just saw this great performance, Oh, Yes She Did by Sandy Brown, covering important African American women throughout history. It was quite incredible. I've always been an avid supporter of civil rights and this performance has only strengthened my feminist and egalitarian beliefs. I now have a huge list of books to read by Angela Davis, Gloria Steinem, and many others. It will probably take me years to read them all, but that's a price I'm all too willing to pay. So I say: "Power to the people!!!" —Feminist Humor Blog
