10-time Grammy-winning salsa singer Ruben Blades hits the Hollywood Bowl with a heck of an opening act -- Maestro Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic. The always entertaining Dudamel leads the Phil in a Latin-themed performance of Mexican composer Arturo Marquez's Danzons Nos. 4 and 8, as well as a series of Symphonic Tangos by award-winning Argentine Emilio Kauderer. Next up, singer-songwriter Blades takes the historic stage. This longtime favorite is not only a Latin jazz superstar who's recorded more than 50 albums, including 2014's Tangos, but he's also a Panamanian politician, Harvard Law grad and a well-respected actor who's starred in close to 40 films. He recently announced a farewell tour for 2015, so catch him while you can at this legendary outdoor amphitheater. Learn More
Dont be lazy, pack a nice picnic, and never forget the wine-it is a must!!! A nice picnic experience is as important as the event itself...so bring plenty of food, cheeses, crackers, anything that will make your stay enjoyable. Come early, a good picnic should last at least an hour and a half. Our Concert started at 8pm, and we were sitting already at the picnic table at 6, after parking and collecting our tickets (30 mins). Note that the picnic areas are closed 15 min before the event start.Los Angeles Philharmonic: All Mozart dining • Aug 22 2014 star this tip starred

Liza demonstrated that she IS a true artist and was born to be an entertainer. She suffered from problems with a broken shoulder, but did her best to give the audience its money's worth. She didn't have perfect pitch on every tune, but we pardoned that because we love her. Her song depicting the internal monologue of a gay man was sensational!
The only real criticism of the show would be that it started at least 40 minutes late, supposedly due to microphone problems.

We were a bit disappointed in this show because Liza doesn't sing the way she used to, BUT we had a wonderful time anyway because she is a fantastic actress and a true LEGEND! Our seats were wonderful, and we made friends with SO MANY people...continued
