Although the performance was delayed more than 1/2 hour, she more than made up for it with her talent, humor and consumate professionalism and the fact that she performed without taking a break on an extremely hot evening says alot about her. Really enjoyed seeing and listening to her sing some old favorites.

Liza is a consummate performer, enormous talent over the years!
Sound system delayed her entrance by almost 45 mins, show started
late, but not her fault....
Her voice is a bit warbly and hoarse, but she belts out her signature songs
like the "old pro" she is and is always exciting to see!

I mean, she performed with a broken shoulder! And still gave it her all! The belting is gone but she can still tell a story with a song.

Although it was a warm night and there were technical difficulties which delayed the start of the concert for forty-five minutes, Liza Minnelli was well worth seeing. She's an excellent dramatic singer and her show was emotionally involving. She has overcome so much in her life and is a real survivor

We were a bit disappointed in this show because Liza doesn't sing the way she used to, BUT we had a wonderful time anyway because she is a fantastic actress and a true LEGEND! Our seats were wonderful, and we made friends with SO MANY people sitting around us!!! The audience was really THE BEST!!!

I enjoyed her show more than I thought I would. Liza is surprisingly down to earth and entertaining. She was late starting because of technical difficulties but made up for the time at the end.

With a couple of caveats, I had a blast. I walked to the Hollywood Bowl and avoided parking fees ($18, more than my ticket price), and made friends everywhere I went.

Although the Bowl had sound issues which caused the performance to begin 38 minutes late, ultimately the sound system and the video screens allowed me to feel I was sharing an intimate performance with several thousand of my closest friends. The people who bought the seats next to mine bought an extra seat, and since one seat next to me was vacant, we weren't squished. With Gold Star pricing, this is affordable.

Liza performed her little heart out, but it was more of a nostalgia performance. Because of her bout with meningitis, she no longer has the voice she once did, but she's wonderful to watch nonetheless. I was also privileged to be able to see a Liza impersonator several rows down from me, who added to her show with his own interpretation of her work. Liza sang her most famous, recognizable songs, for which I'm grateful. Now I can say I've seen her live, performing "Cabaret" and "New York, New York." She also performed several less well known covers of my favorite songs, like "Our Love Is Here To Stay," by her godfather, Ira Gershwin.

Unfortunately the performance was cut short by the sound delay and the fact that Liza was due to board a plane to get to Marvin Hamlisch's memorial, so it was woefully short, about an hour and a half. Also, there was no intermission, Liza's impromptu choice due to her time constraints. This last caused some discomfort for many audience members, and many people left early, a distraction.

The Hollywood Bowl has slipped in its ability to take care of thousands of visitors. The security people have inexplicable rules (I had to walk through a two-block parking lot filled with moving cars to return to the sidewalk), and opera glasses are no longer available for rent. I'm sure that this has been the case for a decade, but I was disappointed, having forgotten to bring my own.

All in all the performance was superlative, but the venue needs work.

Concert was OK. Seats a bit far from stage, mainly watched it on the TV. It was good seeing Liza though. She was consumed with the death of Marvin, her long term best friend and composer. She probably would have liked to put off this concert until the funeral was done and there was some time for grieving, but she is a professional and "the show must go on." She did a lot of tributes to Marvin throughout the show.

She should not have been booked. Talent is gone, physically she seems to be a wreck, and she's there only for those with long memories of someone who used to be in a star status.

There are lots of young, talented singers, even in Jazz, who deserve a hearing. Why not book two or three in an evening using some of our great jazz musicians in LA.
The delay in the start, raises questions if the bowl or Liza was the cause.

It started badly, as the sound system didn't work and they started the show 40 minutes late. They canceled the intermission. But.... it was worth waiting for. Liza was amazzzing, the program was great, an evening to remember!

The daughter of an icon, an icon in her own right, she is definitely a showman! Personal preference: lower the keys of the songs or stop trying to reach the high notes ..

Well, the ol' gal's still got it, that’s for sure. (And I don't think she would object in the slightest to that lovingly-meant moniker.) Whatever vocal abilities that may have slightly diminished over the years is more than made up for by her shear bigger-than-life stage presence. Ever the entertainer, she sang many of her old standards, which, of course, is really what everyone came to hear. I'd say the bowl was about 90% packed. Included in the program were two songs from Cabaret, "Maybe this time" and "Cabaret" which were what I personally wanted to hear most. In between songs, Liza would regale the audience with stories relating to the songs she sang. What an amazing life that woman has lead! Everyone who was anyone in 20th century American film and theatre would be regulars at their family’s house. (She’s the god-daughter of Ira Gershwin!) Several numbers were tributes to her dear friend, Marvin Hamlisch, who just recently passed away. (Actually, as she was ending her performance, she said she had to catch a plain that night back to NYC to help the Hamlisch family with scheduled Sunday afternoon funeral services.) Any negatives of the show were owned by the Bowl folks. The show had a 20 minute delay because of technical problems with the sound system. Missed a couple of lighting queues, and of course, the Bowl “traffic monitors” were totally worthless in getting people out of Lot B. ($18 bucks just to park, just FYI.) But picking up the Gold Star tickets upon arrival was a snap. Overall, a great night out in L.A. under the stars.

Liza demonstrated that she IS a true artist and was born to be an entertainer. She suffered from problems with a broken shoulder, but did her best to give the audience its money's worth. She didn't have perfect pitch on every tune, but we pardoned that because we love her. Her song depicting the internal monologue of a gay man was sensational!
The only real criticism of the show would be that it started at least 40 minutes late, supposedly due to microphone problems.

The show did not start at the scheduled time because of some technical difficulties. Liza appologized for this and began her performance. Especially loved her classic songs. Great show!

This was my first time to the Hollywood Bowl, I thought the drive there was a pain, parking was horrible and the seating was miserable. You're packed in so tight, like sardines and it was hot!!

The show started almost an hour late due to sound problems. It was great to say we saw her!! She sang a lot of ballads which were kind of disappointing.

I don't know if I'd mess with the Hollywood Bowl again. It doesn't seem worth the hassle!!

If you were there, what you got was a sense of who she used to be as a singer. She cannot sustain a note in her upper register anymore, meaning she really couldn't make it through the big blockbusters like "New York, New York." Was much more effective in the more intimate, jazz-tinged numbers where the vocal demands weren't as great and her persona came through. IMO, if she intends to continue singing in public, she'd be better off sticking with that repertoire. But of course, everyone will continue to demand the showstoppers that she unfortunately can't deliver any longer.

All that said, she is still in a category by herself for professionalism, showmanship and charsima. The Hollywood Bowl was at capacity, and it was for those reasons, as well as what she's accomplished in her storied career, that everyone adored her.

Late start by 45 minutes, should have sent the band out to play. Has no stamina, voice, and is unable to stand, but still can "sell" a song. Choice of songs were mostly downers or directed to her crowd. What would have been enjoyable in a small lounge setting was not at the Hollywood Bowl. GREAT BAND!!!!

We had hoped to see a star - even a fading star - but she appeared drunk and could not carry a tune very well. We left early because it was painful to listen to and watch her stagger around. Sad to say the least.

Liza can still strut her stuff! The sound team ran into a glitch causing her performance to start about 40 minutes late. There was thus no intermission which is challenging if you're sitting on a bench!

I have been a Liza Minelli fan for years and have attended many of her concerts. It was painful to hear how her voice has deteriorated. She couldn't hit the high notes and her voice kept cracking. She may get an A for effort but her voice is gone.
