I seemed to have missed an essential rite of childhood as this was the first time I had ever seen the Nutcracker (or a ballet for that matter)! Therefore hard for me to comment on the performance, although my friends who are much more...continued

This being the Kirov, I was expecting a flawless performance. It was not. Aside from the principals, the dancers were not as polished (extensions, symmetry of the corps for example) as I expected. When we finally got to the second act, the...continued

The seats were excellent! But of the 8 or 10 performances I've seen, this one wasn’t near the top. It seemed as though it was produced on a tight budget. Also, they had two intermissions – the first after only ½ hour. Not only did it spoil the...continued

This was the most outstanding ballet troupe who has ever done the Nutcracker. It was an amazing and exciting evening and I could have seen them every night that they were here. Bravo!!!!!!!

I've seen many Nutcracker performances, and this one was near the top. The set design was nice, the costumes lovely and the dancing was strong. It did seem that some of the corps struggled a little bit, but considering the deamands on their bodies...continued

This was a fabulous event. The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion had a special line just for GoldStar pick ups. The venue itself is wonderful and I can't say enough about the performance. The staging, the costumes and, of course, the dancers were...continued

I'm glad I spent the money to see this full professional production. I'm not a huge fan of the Nutcracker, but it was much better to take my five year old to this one, rather than the cheaper amateur Glendale productions I' ve sat through with...continued

The performance was excellent. It did not need 2 intermissions, which seemed to be almost 30 minutes each. My synical side felt that it was a ploy to get people to spend more money on expensive refreshments.

What a splendid experience! For starters, our Goldstar seats were awesome; we couldn't believe the location for the price. The production itself was impressive in every way, save the sluggish opening act. The set decoration was luscious, the...continued

This was a wonderful opportunity to see the Kirov dance in Los Angeles. I wasn't disappointed and I'm glad I made the time to see this holiday classic.

Thanks for your wonderful opportunity to make the arts affordable!

Beautiful ballet, breathtaking costumes, and musical score to die for. Only disadvantage to me was more children attended than what I expected so there was noise & disruption that accompany restless kids and intermissions much longer than usual, I...continued

This was a VERY traditional Russian staging and interpretation of the ballet, quite unlike my childhood memories of seeing the Boston Ballet perform this work.

Ballet fanatics will probably appreciate seeing this event but I can't say I would...continued

Kirov is wonderful!! Lots of small children at the matinee, but it is a children's story so that just added to the whole experience.

I treated 6 members of my family to the show. The girls loved it. I totally enjoyed it. The outfits were gorgous, the performance magical. The prices of the tickets very reasonable.

This production was lukewarm at best. Two dancers stumbled and fell.... The corps did not seem to be in sync.... there was a lack of professionalism in the production.

The advertisement photo showing Diana Vishneva and Igor Zelensky is misleading.

Note that there are 3 separate casts for these performances (differing in the Masha and Nutcracker Prince roles only).

Pay no attention to the LA Times review Fri 12/19. This is a new to me Nutcracker. i have seen many and been charmed. This Nutcracker is supposed to have been created in the 1950s. Wish I had seen it then, too. Much of the musty stuff--the...continued
