Known for her impressive vocal range and big- voiced ballads, McBride has won the Country Music Association's "Female Vocalist of the Year" award four times, and her many chart-topping country hits include "Independence Day," "Concrete Angel" and "My Baby Loves Me." She released her 11th album Eleven, featuring the single "I'm Gonna Love You Through It," which is nominated for a Grammy. Fellow Grammy nominee David Nall opens the show. First, I have to say thank you Goldstar. I went to this event with my 10 year old son and we BOTH loved it. My favorite part was seeing John Mayer perform AFTER the nominations. My son loves Foo Fighter and was in complete awe that he was actually seeing them perform live and the thought of being in the same building as the Jonas Brothers. I was so happy to see Jazmine Sullivan there and she is nominated for best new artist(Bust the Windows Out your Car #1 on the R&B charts). Mariah Carey was great, Christina Aguilera and BB king was great as well too. It was a lovely event and we had good loge seats.Written on Dec 04 2008
This was the first time they had ever tried this live Grammy event and my son understood that he wa taking part in history and in a live television taping. The highlight for me of the evening was when we got home. My son took out his electrical guitar and started playing along with the artists as we watched the telecast.

"The GRAMMY® Nominations Concert Live! - Countdown To Music's Biggest Night" will announce nominations in at least six categories, feature performances by past GRAMMY® winners and nominees including Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Foo Fighters, B.B. King, John Mayer, and Taylor Swift, and will set the stage for the 51st Annual GRAMMY® Awards on Feb. 8, 2009. The special also marks the first time nominations for the annual GRAMMY® Awards will be announced live on primetime television. Following the one-hour live telecast, guests will experience a one-hour exclusive concert by one of the evening's performers in celebration of the grand opening of the GRAMMY® Museum.
