Jazz vocalist Sony Holland showcases her polished and powerful voice with a set that blends jazz standards with rock 'n' roll classics. Holland started out singing Italian arias but was soon entranced by the cool sophistication of jazz -- a background that lets her effortlessly navigate musical eras and diverse artists, from Cole Porter, Sarah Vaughan, Nat King Cole and the Great American Songbook to Rufus Wainwright and beyond. She's joined on stage by her husband, Jerry Holland, whose unique guitar style was developed especially for this duo performance. The show also includes favorites from Holland's latest album, Sanssouci.

Comic Donnell Rawlings takes the stage at the Rrazz Room. He's a national headlining comic with multiple TV stand-up appearances, including BET's Comic View, HBO's Def Comedy Jam and Comedy Central's Reality Bites Back, but he may be best known for his work on that network's Chappelle's Show, in which he played such classic characters as Ashy Larry and the jheri-curled hater Beautiful, and served as the third season's co-host. Sony is a really gifted singer and this show featured a lot of new materials. It included a number of "standards" but done with a contemporary jazz twist for the most part. As a producer of entertainment events, I've worked with a lot of singers and Sony is one of the most consistently fine singers in the Bay Area. Great show!

A fantastic concert with an eclectic mix of tunes ranging from originals to pop, rock, reggae and jazz. Sony's voice was smooth and sultry. The band was right on key. I also enjoyed the intimacy of the room with great sound. A wonderful evening.

Every time I have the pleasure of listening to Sony,and her husband Jerry,I leave the show saying,"Why aren't they playing the top venues in the country?"What a delightful m,usical day.The RrazzRoom must bring them back as a headliner.
