Not all baroque music was "church music," written for (and limited to) the gloriously gilded cathedrals and lavish chapels of Europe. In addition to the likes of Bach, Vivaldi and Scarlatti, there were also brilliant Jewish composers who took the stylistic innovations of the period and refashioned them in dynamic and fascinating new ways. Now, Marin Baroque, the acclaimed chamber choir and orchestra, performs some of the very best pieces of this important and overlooked tradition in Jewish Music of the Baroque at Temple Emanu-El. Music director Daniel Canosa conducts this united ensemble through works by such masters as Caceres, Gallichi, Grossi, Lidarti, Rossi and Saladin. Enjoy the full richness of one of music's most extraordinary periods during this thrilling concert. Learn More

Fantastic evening of incredible music! Jake continues to amaze w/ his inspired and often haunting melodies and the outstanding soloists really did his work justice. The instrumentalists accompanying the soloists did an excellent job as well.
<p>Set to texts by Terrence McNally, Armistead Maupin, Eugenia Zukerman, Gene Scheer, Raymond Carver and others, Heggie's songs explore a range of human drama with lyricism, theatricality and humor. Final concert includes special artists reception.
