For people who dance with despair, this could be a life-saving show. The juxtaposition of sorrow and very dark humor is stunning. Mr. Copeland is a magician of mood.

This show was sobering (the woman next to me kept having to wipe her eyes), but it is such a heartfelt and intimate sharing by Mr. Copeland, that the necessarily grave subject matter goes down with no bitter aftertaste. The audience' response...continued

Sooooo well done, Brian! My feelings ranged from laughing out loud to feeling crushed at the characters Brian portrayed during the 75 minute performance.

The show was great! I laughed and teared-up at times. A lot of it hit close to home.
The venue was cozy and the people working there were friendly and helpful.

We attended the first preview of Brian's show. He was amazing in tackling a difficult subject with humor, insight, and personal experience.
Just when he draws you down into a place of depth and sobriety, he pulls you out with a comment that...continued

Not quite as deep and meaningful as I had hoped. But then again, how many "meaning of life" works of art are?

Brian Copeland is a genius. After seeing his first show, "NOT A GENUINE BLACKMAN" I did not that he could ever top that show. I was wrong. This show was great! Brian showed how a person deals with depression in a very sensitive, serious way with...continued

A true, genuine, right-on-the-money testament to what can happen with depression. Bring some tissue if you think this topic may hit home. The venue is fitting (small and intimate) for the subject matter. Brian's talent shines brightly. If you know...continued

The show was not top-notch. The actor's impersonation of others was not too relevant or convincing. Nevertheless, the performance was noted for its honesty and was quite moving at times. Nice use of humor, also

This is a 1-man show by Brian Copeland about his own depression. It is a noble attempt but I felt he needed more "distance", that is more time-distance from his personal experience to make this a good piece of Theater.

Solid performance and worth the price. The bare stage effect is appropriate for the dark topic, but a few select props may have brought the story more to life, as there are points in the play that are a bit dull.
Overall though, well worth it...continued

Brian Copeland gives an outstanding and very brave performance, not only contributing to the art of great theater, but performing a service to people suffering with depression and those who know and love them.

I thoroughly enjoyed "The Waiting Period". It was very moving and funny at the same time. While entertaining, it also provided me with valuable insight into the disease of depression. Definitely a must see.
