Even Verdi can write a clunker. It's like trying to rewrite a bad musical that just never comes together. Plot made even less sense than Il Travatore and it certainly needed the Marx Bros. to liven up the broken up plot. Seats were too far back...continued

Don't miss this wonderful event. First don't miss James Colon who
explains what is going on , on stage. Very important to know.

If you miss M. Colon. The singing from the first act is moving and so
superb.

The cast got 5 or 6 curtain...continued

My first Simon Boccanegra, but a long time opera buff. Placido was in amazing voice and I have heard him many times. The cast was terrific, particularly the soprano Ana Martinez and baritone Vitalij Kowaljow, both new to me ,but world class...continued

I feel fortunate to hear P. Domingo sing and the other two leads were unbelievable. The blending of voices was a true treat. Fortunate me to be there.

We enjoyed Simon Boccanegra very much. It was a good thing we went to the pre-concert since the plot was quite complicated. The sets and costumes were wonderful.

It was fantastic to hear Placido Domingo perform live. The performances on TV or DVD do not do justice. The other performers were fantastic as well, especially Ana Maria Martinez.

Placido Domingo, James Conlon, Ana Maria Martinez, Vitalij Kowaljow, Stefano Secco, Paolo Gavanelli and Robert Pomakov were brilliant in Verde's swashbuckling opera based on a story of political intrigue and love in 14th century Genoa, Italy. ...continued

Verdi proves he can create a story that feels very Shakespearean without relying on Shakespeare! Domingo of course is the main attraction.

Not a fan of opera, we attended merely to hear Placido Domingo. Unfortunately our seats were in the next to last row, thus we could not see or tell who was singing. Also, a woman two rows in front of us chose to sit forward in her seat throughout,...continued
