While Walt Anthony, the magician/storyteller, was personable and interacted well with the audience, we were underwhelmed by the show. We found the pace to be extremely slow and the stories very drawn out. There were not that many illusions...continued

Half the art of storytelling, half the art of illusion. A fun time. It was interesting hearing stories about early San Francisco characters. The illusions were all pretty standard, but I left mystified. How some of them could be done, just six...continued

Heard a lot of fun San Francisco stories, including the origin of the term "sugar daddy"....yes, coined in SF by Big Alma Spreckles.

Parlor magic tricks from simple to unbelievable. Show was a quick two hours (with intermission). The tidbits of S.F. history kicked the entertainment up a bit over normal magic acts. We parked at the Union Sq. garage, just a short walk away. If...continued

I enjoyed the show soooooo much! The tales about people from the past in San Francisco's history were very interesting to me....and a little spooky, too! The decor of the room where the event took place added so much also. I thoroughly enjoyed the...continued

A fun-loving whimsical odyssey mixed with local folklore and well-executed sleight of hand. Subtle, classy and well spoken, Walt makes a wonderful story-teller as well as a master of intrigue all in the festively decorated parlor offering a...continued

If you are looking for a different kind of night out, look no further. We took our two children, ages 10 and 12 as well as friends of ours in their 70s and everybody loved the show. A perfect blend of magic, drama and history for all ages. I was...continued

AWESOME magic and story-telling....just a bit too long long and the stories and not enough magic.

I did not realize that there would be so much story telling involved. While somewhat interesting, it was a bit too much and certainly paced too slow. You can tell he is very passionate about what he does which I liked to witness. Just way to...continued

It’s about an hour's worth of lovely entertainment delivered laboriously for two hours. Walt works hard for the audience to like him, and he is a likable guy, but the show could use tightening up. The venue is delightful, some interesting S.F....continued

It's a little charmer. We had nice dinner at friends home nearby beforehand. Easy drop off at door and parking 1/2 block away at Union Sq garage. Delightful little salon with tales and magic tricks. Back home for dessert afterwards. Lovely evening.

Upon entering the turn of-the-century parlor you are greeted warmly by your cheerful but mysterious host, Walt Anthony and his lovely assistant. Don't be expecting a lot of fancy hocus pocus in his show. For Walt Anthony is a captivating,...continued

This is well worth attending, whether you're a local or a tourist. And I had the opportunity to interact with him after the show. He is truly a fine man, and that should count as you decide how to spend your entertainment dollars.

We didn't expect to have so much fun. The stories are enjoyable and the magic tricks well executed. The space is a little tight, which is making it harder on the performer, but he handled it very well. The hotel fed us tasty cookies and coffee,...continued

The Chancellor Hotel, once THE tallest building in San Francisco is home to this delightful
performance of fancy, fun and facts about our town and it's colorful characters.
The one-man show is engaging, intimate and thoroughly enjoyable.
