The 2 stars is for the fact that up to (more than) 1/2 HOUR INTO the performance, people were still ushered in and disrupted our focus on the ballet. Very disappointed that Goldstar did not clearly state that latecomers will be admitted and...continued

A great high energy event. Great venue. I always love the Wiltern.

The performance lacked any energy though it was technically good; this version is different and the added mascots took away from the dancing. I came expecting a top notch performance and while it was okay, it did not fill the gap of wanting to see...continued

Very disappointing!!! The staging was actually drab! Except for 2 or 3 of the male dancers, the dancing was uninspired.

The performance was the ultimate in perfectly choreographed and perfectly executed classical ballet. The backdrops and costumes were visually stunning. The big problem was the venue. They had a total lack of organization at the will-call...continued

What can I say it is a typical Russian Ballet of the past no but it was OK. The costumes not as fancy as they use to be when it was USSR, small cast, the main dancers and others were still good.

No orchestra which was disappointing and music...continued

We are picky about Nutcracker productions and we loved this one. The Arabian dancers were amazing, so were the Chinese. This production was designed to especially appeal to children. A group of children sat behind us and it was fun to hear them...continued

The sets were imaginative and very impressive. The dancing was almost flawless. The overall theater magic was 5 out of 5 and totally wonderful. Our 3 year old granddaughter had to have a picture with Svetlana, the Dove of Peace and stayed...continued

Too many steps to climb to a mezzanine which is really a balcony. There was no live music but a playback. The dancers were good. But the puppets on the back were distracting and I did not like them. The lines to the will call were way too long.

My daughter and I have been been to hundreds of plays and musicals as well as the american ballet, Alvin ailey and Dance Theatre of Harlem and a myriad of entertaining events. We were very excited about this event and it was even at the top of our...continued

Beautiful Russian-themed ballet, a bit different from American version, but excellent dancers, lovely sets, and same wonderful music. Had good seats with perfect view in mezzanine. HOWEVER, we missed enjoying the first 30 minutes because hoards...continued

This was a great nostalgic trip back to my childhood, spending Saturday afternoons at the Wiltern Theater, when it was just a movie venue. I took my granddaughter, who is eight, and a dancer. Russian dance companies are rarely disappointing and...continued

Superior dancing and costumes! I would have liked to have seen more props. It was disappointing not to see the lady with the children emerging from her huge skirt. But the entire performance was wonderful, and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

A little departure from the original NYC version, but still enjoyable. Not exactly Kirov level dancing, but met my expectations. Always a great way to ring in the Christmas season!

This performance was very disappointing and certainly not worth the $84 for my seat + $13 service charge. For starters, where was the orchestra? They used a recording of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Suite instead of real musicians. For the...continued

My husband and I took our 7 year old and went with another couple and their 7 year old. We were expecting something really special considering it was a Russian production. But we all agreed it was a complete disappointment: flat, uninspired and...continued
