A total surprise. I expected only to hear some live bluegrass music to be played by Monroe crossing. Instead, I experienced a totally unexpected chorale, a beautifully conceived and presented vocal symphony supported by the delicately and subtly...continued

Loved Monroe Crossing. Enjoyed listening to the two choirs. Wished Monroe Crossing played and sang more songs.

A very pleasant surprise! I bought the ticket thinking it would be a straight bluegrass festival. However, it was praise bluegrass... chorus was fantastic, the musicians were outstanding and the mass was exceptional. Wonderful evening and I am...continued

Very enjoyable evening, with the Carnegie Hall stage filled with hundreds of singers. The Monroe Crossing bluegrass band was terrific!

Heard the word "bluegrass" and bought tickets blind, no idea what this was, thought we'd be in the nosebleed section. Row J center orchestra, fabulous introduction to the combination of choral sacred music and bluegrass from "the only full-time...continued

It was a fun program and I liked the contrast between Bluegrass and choral singers. One of my favorite moments was after the intermission, when Monroe Crossing took the stage solo and played some authentic Bluegrass on their own. Carnegie Hall is...continued

I don't really think large choral ensembles are suited to the bluegrass genre. I didn't like the first half, but stayed for the second anyway. Monroe Crossing, a Minnesota bluegrass band, amused with a few songs before a bluegrass mass, in which...continued

It wasn't quite what we were expecting. It was more of a classical concert featuring bluegrass instruments and a huge choir. But it was very interesting.

I enjoyed the entire concert, music, conductors, soloists and spirituality. I particularly enjoyed Monroe Crossing and would have liked to hear more bluegrass folk, popular and country songs. The musicians are extremely talented and entertaining.

Good seat; even though it was rear orchestra, I could see and hear everything perfectly. I especially enjoyed the second half of the program, Monroe Crossing without the chorus, and the bluegrass mass by Carol Barnett.

This was not a Bluegrass Concert. It was a vanity conference of Christian music.

Don't expect this to be a bluegrass event. It is a choir event with very minor participation from the bluegrass band!

I was under the impression that the Bluegrass Band advertised 'Monroe Crossing' would be performing along with a choir at Carnegie Hall. I didn't realize that the choir would do ALL the songs, and Monroe Crossing was just a 'special guest' merely...continued
