From Robert Goulet and Gene Kelly to Gordon MacRae and beyond, cabaret artist James Cichewicz pays musical tribute to the great leading men of the silver screen and New York stage. The Tony-winning Goulet shot to stardom in 1959, in what would become his signature song and show, "If Ever I Would Leave You," from Broadway's Camelot, which kicked off a more than 40-year career as a TV, stage and film actor and best-selling recording artist. MacRae was best known for his roles in the film versions of Oklahoma! and Carousel, and his hits "Love Is a Many Splendored Thing" and "Hair of Gold, Eyes of Blue." And of course, Gene Kelly was the dancing-singing-acting superstar who lit up the stage and screen in Pal Joey and Singin' in the Rain. Quotes & Highlights
“Sally Struthers is a force of nature.” —Florida Times Union
In this intimate evening, Sally takes you on a journey. From growing up in Portland, Oregon singing in school the naughty songs her Dad taught her and the silly ones her Mom wrote to performing in the television box when the insides were out for repair. From being the “most promising student” at the Pasadena Playhouse College of Theatre Arts to auditioning for commercials and not being cast as The Ponds Girl, but as friend of the Ponds Girl. From working on the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour and The Tim Conway Comedy Hour, to dating Elvis Presley, to the crazy audition process for All in the Family and stories from years of working with Carroll, Jean and Rob. Sally also explores her years in the theater with some of her favorite songs from shows like Hello, Dolly! and Annie. She introduces us to all of the famous people in her life along the way and discusses some of the travails and joys of being a Mom.
