"Blackwatch" - performed by the National Theater of Scotland, was a pleasure in political theatre. The setting - the Mission Armory - was both impressive and culturally appropriate for the piece. While some of the actors lagged toward the end (the...continued

Absolutely outstanding theatre experience. It is probably not for every audience -- obscenities, difficult lalnguage -- but for the intelligent adult, it is super.

An amazing piece of theater! The Scottish lads offered a devastating commentary on the War in Iraq that could not have been made by Americans. Through the crude and course language of soldiers and the proud history of The Black Watch, we learn...continued

Fantastic experience! This is the best production I have seen all year. We had spectacular seats in the front row thanks to Goldstar! My guest is handicapped and she didn't have to do any climbing of steps!
Due to the Scottish dialect some words...continued

It was engaging, but surprisingly not very emotionally engaging. It had a detached quality, but perhaps that's part of the point - a bunch of young blokes in a pub who've gone through watching their friends die in Iraq might be a bit detached.

The play should not be missed....intense and brilliantly conceived. While the accents may be a struggle sometimes there is no doubt how these characters feel and it is always clear what is going on. The venue is perfect for this show and you...continued

WOW! What a tour de force. Interesting perspective on war coming from the inside but watching it as an observer before, during and after deployment. Some incredible staging and a wonderful evening at the theater. So if you don't get every word...continued

A well choreographed, but rather bombastic production. Think they could have used the "F" and "C" words more?

I feel rather foolish to admit that when I bought the ticket, I didn't read much about the perormance and arrived thinking it would be a typical "tattoo" with a pipe band, Scottish dancing, and so forth. The first few moments disabused me of that...continued

It was an interesting venue and the way the seats were set up there weren't any bad seats in the house. As for the show itself, it was just ok. You do have to play close attention because of the accents. I liked what they were trying to tell us...continued

The show was interesting if unnecessarily long. While it was a musical, don't expect to come away humming anything. The location of the Armory Drill court while novel was not a great experience. First there is no coat check (as a rider that leaves...continued

This presentation was highly evocative. "Raw" is the best word I can use to describe it. Not for the delicate who can't handle coarse and uncensored language. However, in order to reach authenticity, the graphic nature is absolutely legitimized....continued

Would have enjoyed it more if one could understand the words when they were talking; missed at least 40% of the dialogue; the scottish brogue was so thick the words were hardly decipherable. Also, the most uncomfortable seats I have sat in a...continued

Everything that you hope theatre would be - thoughtful, good storytelling, imaginative direction and choreography, moving - and that much more interesting seeing it at the Armory.
