THE ENTIRE PERFORMANCE WAS A BRILLIANT DISPLAY OF CREATIVITY. VAL KILMER WAS MESMERIZING. HE MADE MARK TWAIN COME ALIVE ON STAGE AND W/THE AUDIENCE AS HE KIDDINGLY BANTERED BACK AND FORTH W/THEM.
THE ENDING SHTICK WAS SUPER TERRIFIC AND SO MUCH...continued

This was my fist experience back to the theatre since I went to see "Dream Girls" with Jennifer Holiday in the production. I have to say that I was one, thrilled to spend the afternoon with my daughter and two Very pleased that the show was such...continued

Great show and venue. Val Kilmer was amazing. A must see. More than just quotes and anecdotes as you might expect.

At the very least, an interesting night at the theater. Val Kilmer was very engaging and the show was unique. It wasn't a period piece because the play starts with Nirvana music playing and he talks about Paula Deen being a racist. The audience...continued

One of my favorite theatre's in LA--top 3? top 2? Either way, the show definitely lived up to the hype. Val Kilmer is excellent. He really makes you believe that he's Mark Twain incarnate. And the story of the play, which mimics Twain's original...continued

Very different performance than Hal Holbrook's. Mr. Kilmer brought in a lot of current references and seemed to mumble his way through the monologue. Younger members of the audience really liked his performance. I think it needs to be edited...continued

Val Kilmer "is" Mark Twain for 90 minutes! I was on the edge of my seat not wanting to miss a word. The performance was spectacular and the insight to an important part of our history was enlightening. The show after the show should not be missed!

Val was spectacular. The show was very well-written, and his characterization of Twain was just fabulous. Really engaging and educational as well as inspirational.

Val Kilmer is the most personable actor in theatre! The Q & A after the performance while his makeup was removed revealed an actor with a vast knowledge of Mark Twain.

I didn't find it as engaging as I was anticipating, however his quips and adlibs along with the way he finished with his interactive performance (don't want to spoil the surprise for those yet to see it) certainly were the highlights for me.

It was a good show, and his opening and closing were unique and entertaining, as was much of his material. We struggled to understand some of his lines - too many of them, we thought - through his rough simulation of Twain's scratchy voice. And we...continued

There really isn't a bad seat in the whole theater. I think in time, this will be a long running gig for Val Kilmer. I liked the way he interacted with the audience. Don't leave, because after the show, one will be in for a surprise.

Val Kilmer disappears into the character and captures the wit and charm of Mark Twain in this delightful play. Had to see it again! Standing ovation well deserved! I highly recommend it!

Val IS the modern day Mark Twain, portraying both his wit, humor, and humanity. Awesome show!

Val Kilmer did an incredible job of portraying Mr. Twain. It was fun, funny and sharp. Get there early to watch him come out and interact with the audience. Stay and watch him take off his make-up and answer questions

What a wonderful experience. Loved the intimate theatre. It was a perfect setting for this particular event. Val Kilmer was a joy to watch. He took us all to another time and place. It dragged a little in the middle and I am uncomfortable with the...continued

Quite boring. Twain provides so much rich material-only so little of it was used. Also any actor (even a good one) needs a director. The fact that this production was self-directed was very obvious.

This performance was wonderful. Don't know how long it will be at the Douglas but it does go 'on the road.' Highly recommend.

I thought this show was very moving in making you think about life and how fleeting it is and what impressions we can or cannot make. It made me think and it was surprisingly funny. It's not a traditional play, more like one-man stand-up in...continued
