Great guitar jazz comes to the Canyon, courtesy of Acoustic Alchemy and opening act, Steve Oliver. British contemporary instrumental and smooth jazz band Acoustic Alchemy, fronted by guitarists Greg Carmichael and Miles Gilderdale, had a hit with 1987's Red Dust and Spanish Lace, and have since scored a trio of Grammy nominations, including a nod for their 2001 release AArt. Vocalist/guitarist Steve Oliver is known for his upbeat and soulful performances, reflecting a range of influences from pop, rock and soul to contemporary jazz. His new hit song "Fun in the Sun," off his recent CD Global Kiss, was No. 1 on the Billboard Smooth Jazz and Indie charts for more than eight weeks.

Description

Led by guitarists Greg Carmichael and Miles Gilderdale, three-time Grammy nominated Acoustic Alchemy are approaching a quarter-century of recording together, since 1987’s Red Dust and Spanish Lace established the ensemble as a force in smooth jazz.

Acoustic Alchemy’s rich legacy is based on the extraordinary airplay, sales and critical reception given the many early Nick Webb-Greg Carmichael led recordings followed by those helmed later by Carmichael and co-leader Miles Gilderdale.

Currently, Acoustic Alchemy is putting the finishing touches to their long- awaited new album Roseland.

With phenomenal capabilities of emulating and incorporating music styles from global genres with a mix of pop/rock/soul and contemporary, Steve Oliver has forged the edge on branding a fresh, new, crisp and chart topping sound as an unparalleled guitarist and signature vocalist. His radiating live performances have earned him countless standing ovations throughout the U.S. and world tour invites.
