Gordon was good, voice is a little weak but still mellow.
The seating at the Canyon Club is spotty and there are a number of poor sight areas, even if you bought your tickets early. It all depends where you are in line rather than when you bought the tickets. The large side screens showing the performance are very poor and really ineffective.

While not in the strong deeper voice of yesteryear, Gordon still conveys a fine singing quality and the same beautiful offerings he has made famous for decades. His and his band's performance had me writing song lyrics in my head, and longing for his capacity for turning simple themes into masterpieces of melodic and lyrical beauty, as well as a yearning to pick up the guitar once again and play. He packed a lot of song whallop into that hour and a half concert- so we really got a bang for our bucks quantity-wise.
While from most vantage points the view from seats to stage is intimate if you've chosen the dinner option, there are a few blind spots in the venue, but that's to be expected anywhere. Large screens; not too great visually, but tv's over the bars have a good picture of the performance, although small.
The main problem with the Canyon as I see it, is that it is first come, first serve whether you have dinner reservations or not. Having made mine 2 months in advance I was disapointed to end up in a far corner at the side of the stage. Food was impressively good though, although service system is a little screwy and you are apt to get your condiments after your dinner is over.
This is my second trip to the canyon this year, and I have an issue with their making the second tier of seating out of bounds. Their excuse is that it's saved for record execs and band members vips, but it just sits empty up there. I was told if I was willing to upgrade another 50 dollars my party of two could sit there, when I complained about our seats. That's bullshit. Especially when you can see that those tables are not going to be used, although set up and ready for dinner.
Gordon though....? I'd go see him again tomorrow if I could.

I was a bit disappointed with this show. Although I really like his work I thought his stage presence was very weak. The volume at the Canyon was way to low to hear and enjoy the concert from where I was sitting. The same low volume issue happened at the Gary Wright concert I attended several months ago. The difference being part way through the Wright concert the volume level was increased and it made a great improvement. After the volume issue was resolved the Wright concert really rocked and was very enjoyable. I am sure Lightfoot would have been much more enjoyable if the amps had been turned up for him as well.
This was my second concert at the Canyon and I had dinner at both shows. The food was good both visits but over priced for what they served.
All and all it was still a fun evening.
