Overall, a very good concert. Canyon Club is a great place to see a show.

Great White sounded great with some exceptions when Jack Russell couldn't give his all. He'd said he had a back injury from a car accident. Still, they sounded great. Mark Kendall's guitar playing was tasty.

The first band (Two Cents) was a growler band with a horrible mix. Couldn't decipher anything the guitars or bass were doing. The drummer/singer (screamer) had a great stage presence. I'm not a fan of the music style and think he could do well in fronting something to showcase his talent, assuming he can sing. The little bits where he wasn't doing the scream/growl thing sounded good.

The second band was awesome (Ninth Circle). The guitarist/singer was excellent. They had a good mix and good sound. I bought their CDs there. That's a loud screaming rock-n-roll guitar!

Jack Russell is back. Its been I saw him last at the Rocklahoma 2010. He had some accident requiring medication then-which made his performance less than his norm (seen him maybe 4 times prior). He has a God given voice that kicks ass. Its too bad MK didn't give him a chance when he was ready again. MK may have the GW name, but Jack has the sound. His backing band was comprised of former GW members and other excellent musicians (solos!).
Opening up was Superfix. Have seen them maybe 4 times prior. New singer fronted the group, giving their performance a little harder edge. Catch them if you can!

More Information About Jack Russell's Great White

Description

The Southern California blues and hard rock band Great White first took a bite out of the rock scene in 1984 and since then has achieved worldwide success, encompassing sales of over six million records. They received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance for the song "Once Bitten, Twice Shy," and earned a double platinum certification for the album …Twice Shy. The late 80's were boom years for the band, marked by non-stop touring with some of the biggest bands of the era and playing also in Europe and Japan. Great White also recorded “Hooked,” which was certified gold and “Psycho City.” The soulful, blues-based signature sound, that turned songs like "Face The Day," "Rock Me" and "Save Your Love" into international hits, can also be found in the band's newer material.
