If it was jusr Tony Levin I'd give it 5 stars. Adrian was fine but his playing lack emotion and seemed more going through the motions. Although he seemed quite satisfied with what he was doing on stage. Tony the stick man was masterful and enchanting.

Excellent show!! One of the best musical events I've seen. Canyon Club is a good venue with great sound. If you get a table for dinner which is good food, the view isn't great so you have to stand during the music but great to sit for intermission. I got there late so had to share a table so if you want your own table get there early.

Great night of music from both trios. Extra bonus was the King Crimson set! The only thing missing was a cutout of Robert Fripp hiding in the shadows. For once, the sound system didn't suck at the Canyon Club.

excellent playing by unique & innovative musicians. venue's an area landmark; sound was decent; drawback is that one must crowd pretty close to the stage to get a good view (stage is too low for good extended sight lines). didn't sample the food but how could it possibly be any better than mediocre? that's not why you're there.

Description

King Crimson players Adrian Belew, Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto keep very busy individually when Crimson's not active, but now, a historic joint tour: Adrian Belew Power Trio headlines the bill, with Stick Men (featuring Tony and Pat) opening.

And of course, how could they resist joining together for a Crim-centric extended encore - after their respective sets we'll see them reconfigure as the Ade/Tony/Pat trio, morphing into the double trio lineup like King Crimson featured in the 90's.

Adrian Belew's trio features the amazing bassist Julie Slick, and NYC drummer Tobias Ralph - perfect complements to Belew's extraordinary guitar playing and singing.

Stick Men presents Tony Levin's virtuosic playing on the Chapman Stick, with Pat Mastelotto giving his unique progressive drumming on both acoustic and electronic drums. Markus Reuter rounds out the band, playing his self-designed touch style guitar.
