Preston Smith is master of many genres of music, and very at home on the stage. His easygoing style and charisma were perfect for the Blues and New Orleans style music that he favored us with. His band was top flight also, playing multiple sets and keeping an extremely engaging evening alive for us all. The buffet at Canyon Club made it all even more fun!Written on Feb 23 2012

Disappointing. Smith had lots of musicians and they were not working well together. Further, Smith had a bunch of his own instruments and as a result seemed to lack focus, drive, and energy as host and lead singer. Show seemed a mish mash. Smith was unable to get the crowd into the music. Expected a really good musical party and festive atmosphere, but it didn't materialize this time.Written on Mar 07 2012

While the band had excellent musicians, the music selection was ok (think mardi gras:) and the performance could've been tighter.Written on Feb 22 2012

Quotes & Highlights
- "Smith has a problem — it's that he's too good at too many things. Blues, rockabilly, Chuck Berry rock — you name it. Smith can sing and play it with as much soul, suave or boogie as anyone in town. Best of all, Smith enjoys each song as much as the audience." --BAM Magazine
- "A stylistic cross between Louis Armstrong and Harry Connick Jr., Smith, whose presence combines warmth and chutzpah ... lures in rubbernecks from the sidewalk with his assorted mix of music." --Pasadena Weekly
