My friend was mortified right before the show started when I told him it was an "acoustic/unplugged" type setting. That was funny. Geoff sounded great- his vocals were very strong- he even has a cool speaking voice and it was neat just hearing him talk between the songs. The band was good and they did a fine job playing his tunes. However, the Geoff Tate wine we bought for our table and some of the Geoff Tate solo songs made me a little sleepy (OK, very sleepy). It was cool being able to meet him/ getting a picture after the show and the wine bottle signed via the "meet-n-greet", but I enjoyed Queensryche's performances at the Canyon over him playing solo there. All in all, it was a good show and he's one of the best singers in rock, so it was totally worth it...Written on Feb 04 2012

Really enjoyed Geoff. Great voice and stage presence. The promised wine tasting only lasted the first hour? We arrive by 7:30 for a 9:00 show and the wine person had already left and left no open bottles to try. Unfortunately Geoff didn't sing "Silent Lucidity". Should have let him know he was being promoted that way. Food at the venue is overpriced and awful. They make you buy dinner to get a seat, but that is no excuse for terrible food. (Table seating is optional, and you will need to stand if you do not make a table reservation.)Written on Jan 30 2012

Geoff Tate sounded great and he still has that awesome voice! Loved the unplugged version of his set. Wish he would of played at least one more song for the oncore though. Canyon Club was a great place to see the show as it seemed very intimate.Written on Feb 04 2012
