Bad sound with mikes in and out, lighting was horrendous, male ensemble too young and not believable as Aggies, female ensemble too young and not believable as whores. Bad sets. Miss Mona one dimensional. And on and on...Peter del Fiorentino as Thorpe was a highlight
Country comes to Broadway when Alameda Civic Light Opera presents The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas, the story of a Texas brothel that, having existed peacefully for decades, faces sudden exposure and public outcry at the hands of an overzealous reporter. The 1982 film version starred Dolly Parton as Ms. Mona, the lovable madam of the house. Come watch the fate of the Chicken Ranch and its colorful ladies unfold to riotous country-flavored tunes and a rollicking good time!
