The Alameda Civic Ballet's "Nutcracker" was OK. It was more a community & local venue at a school auditorium with cute little kids on stage. I thought it would be more of a professional production with a live orchestra, magical theatrical...continued

We attended because we live right down the street we found the 1/2 price tickets. But, we were pleasantly surprised. It was a great local production. Lots of cute kids and some very talented dancers. Sound was good and the venue is easy.

I enjoyed this event. I saw it last year too. It was similar yet there were a few dancers that were "off" this year. The children were adorable. The BEST part was the male dancer in the second act. He was AMAZING! My friend and I could have...continued

Went due to the fact that my mother who is 72 years old stated that she had never attended the Nutcracker in her life. This was a pleasant rendition with lots of small children (who were very cute). The prima ballerina and ballet master were very...continued

Anyone who loves children will love this Nutcracker. It features children of all ages, and many very young ones. The principal dancers (who were adults) were terrific, especially the sugar plum fairy and her prince. I knew several of the...continued

I went because my nieces never see any of the Nutcracker before. It was a very good experience for them especially for the little one. By the way, the little one even dressed up as a ballerina to see the ballet. The prima ballerinas were good...continued

I should have spent the money and gone to the Oakland Ballet performance of the Nutcracker held at the Paramount Theatre. I thought I was going to see a professional performance put on by Alameda Civic Ballet. Instead it was only 1/2...continued

I went because I knew one of the young dancers. It was well done, but I was told it was general seating and the seats were assigned. Parking was available, but about 2 blocks away. The dancers from the first act were in the lobby during the...continued

My first Gold Star event! I have attended both the San Francisco and Oakland Ballet productions of the Nutcracker and I have to say the Alameda production really surprised me. Granted, the venue and stage are much smaller but entertaining for the...continued

This Nutcracker combined student work with professional dancers. The Music is not live, but was sharp and clear. The sets and costumes were well done. There were many children in the audience, and many of the dancers had family and friends...continued
