This classic tale of star-crossed lovers, set amid the turmoil of racially-charged gang warfare in 1950s Manhattan, is a favorite of audiences everywhere. The dark theme, sophisticated music, extended dance scenes and focus on social problems marked a turning point in American musical theater. The popular score includes "Something's Coming," "Tonight," "I Feel Pretty" and the hauntingly beautiful "Maria."

Gotta love live theatre!

Very clever set... great acting and singing... the costumes were authentic-looking.

I think the Sound Designer/Engineer was completely DEAF.
Worst sound at an event EVER.
Didn't make a single attempt at fixing feedback, broken mics, blaringly loud mics...it was obvious she didn't know what she was doing and/or didn't care at all.

I sat through 75% of the show wiht my fingers plugging my ears so that I would be able to use my hearing again some time in my lifetime.

The production itself was excellent. The direction and choreography were first rate. The cast was very strong and did a great job. My only critique is the sound system. The actors were wearing head mics and there was a lot of distortion and bad sound levels throughout the show. Everything else was great, including the orchestra!
