For its season opening concert, the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra welcomes two original members of the renowned and innovative Turtle Island Quartet -- founder David Balakrishnan on violin and Mark Summer on cello -- to Schlesinger Concert Hall for this show entitled Altered States. Each will perform on two of Balakrishnan's original compositions, Little Mouse Jumps and the world premiere of Force of Nature. The program will conclude with a performance of popular French Romantic composer Hector Berlioz's dramatic and timeless Symphonie Fantistique.
