Our seats were off to the right side and therefore the orchestra drowned out the choirs on more than one occasion. The soloists, especially the tenor, were surprising weak for professionals. The pre-concert lecture was most entertaining and worth showing up an hour before.

We were a threesome and all loved it. The first two pieces were wonderful. I wish I had attended more of the series. Maybe next season. We really like the venue because the acoustics are excellent. The previous reviewer may not have had good seats. The orchestra and the director are amazing -- such energy! Dinner first at Clyde's made for a perfect evening.

The orchestra played extremely well. Maestro Kluge did an excellent job of keeping the pace and not giving the audience time to disturb the flow by breaking into applause between segments. My only complaint is that the orchestra drowned out the singers in places, a fault of both the conductor and the singers. The combined chorus was spectacular. The soloists were somewhat disappointing. The soprano has a lovely voice but couldn't make herself heard above orchestra at times. The baritone was the best of the three, but he also had problems with projections. I think both of them were actually too young vocally to take on those parts. The tenor started off shaky and then hit good form later in his solo. It must be difficult to sit there for so long while orchestra and chorus do their thing, and then have to stand up and hit top form in your only solo as soon as you open your mouth.
