  • on Where to Park
Parking very convenient at Schlesinger Hall, and it's free, too!
  • on Where to Eat
Not quite a wine-at-intermission sort of venue, but soft drinks and snacks are available.
  • on What to Wear
Saw no-one in jeans, thankfully; dress for the occasion and you'll be glad you did.

I had a long-held dream of listening to Beethoven's 4th piano concerto in the company of my true love -- when I found him. That dream came true last Sunday, when I heard the 4th live for the first time in my life, side by side with my new boyfriend. The experience exceeded my expectations by far. Maestro Kluge's warmth, erudition and taste as a conductor and representative of the ASO were outstanding. The entire orchestra was first-rate and impeccable. The venue was flawless, acoustically, logistically and esthetically. As for Yuliya Gorenman's performance, words fail me. To say that she played with passion, intelligence and power barely hints at what she achieved. Since I cannot describe her artistry adequately, I will stop now.

Ariadne's review is right on target. The ASO is an excellent group, the conductor is tasteful and precise, and the setting acoustically super. Yulia Gorenman played perfectly. The entire concert was a fabulous experience.

Great program, orchestra and solist both excellent. Especially enjoyed the comments by the conductor about the music.
