Description
Performing the work that launched his career in Europe and abroad, Mr. Horn will play Grieg’s Piano Concerto, inspired by folk tunes of his native Norway.
Maestro Kim Allen Kluge and the ASO will match the melodic richness and folk influences of Grieg with Tchaikovsky’s inventive and daring Symphony No. 4.
With all sections of the orchestra featured, and with the composer’s use of the folk tune “In a Field Stood a Birch Tree” in the final movement, these two works have much in common and will provide for a thrilling 2010 Opening Weekend of the ASO.
