Kim Allen Kluge leads the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra in a concert featuring the works of Mendelssohn and Stravinsky. The concert is the culmination of a weeklong residency by internationally renowned violinist Midori, during which she will visit Alexandria-area schools. Midori will be the featured violinist for Mendelssohn's popular Concerto for Violin, and the orchestra will also perform Stravinsky's Firebird Suite from his ballet The Firebird. Learn More

Description
<p>Jane Franklin Dance brings together premier dance, live music, and artistic and community collaboration in Sound Walk. From duet marimbas, to a string quartet, to an original music composition that incorporates the sounds of neighborhood workshops, to a chorus of youth voices, each dance utilizes the power of collaboration to combine artistic comment about the ever changing community with the people who inhabit it.</p>
<p>The concert features premier performances by Jane Franklin Dance with music by Gina Biver's Splash, ensemble Nova String Quartet sponsored by American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras, and Alexandria Choral Society Children's Chorus.</p>
