Five Southern women whose friendship began on their college swim team reunite each August for a long weekend. Leaving their husbands, children and jobs behind, organizer Sheree, wise-cracking career woman Dinah, pampered Lexie, self-deprecating Vernadette and eager-to-please Jeri assemble at the same North Carolina beach cottage to recharge their relationships. The Dixie Swim Club focuses on four weekends, as the women face assorted challenges and triumphs. Yet another 1st rate show by PC Playhouse! You won't see better plays or performances at any price in the DC area. The staging was outstanding; acting great; and the play is both hilarious and full of great truths and poignancy where women and bonding are concerned. The theatre space is small and well set up, no bad seats, and the atmosphere is warm and friendly.Written on Mar 12 2012
