Tony Award winner for Best Play of 2013, Christopher Durang's Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike sends up the classic dramas of Anton Chekhov with an absurdist tale of familial dysfunction. But, you don't have to be a Cherry Orchard scholar to appreciate this zany farce, which the Associated Press called "utterly refreshing." Vanya and his sister Sonia live a quiet life in the Bucks County farmhouse where they grew up. When their movie star sister, Masha, returns home unannounced with Spike, her 20-something boy toy, an unforgettable weekend ensues. Learn More

The show was good. The acting superb and the staging excellent. Act II Playhouse is
a very small but comfortable venue. We enjoyed two of our favorite local actors - Tony
Braithwaite and Jeff Coons. Definitely worth the trip to Ambler.
Lend Me a Tenor is a madcap screwball comedy that takes place when Tito Merelli (Jeffrey Coon), the fiery-tempered and world famous Italian superstar, goes missing just as he's to make his debut with a local opera company. As the show's presenter (Tony Braithwaite) conspires to cover for Tito's absence, placate his hot-blooded wife (Tracie Higgins), and distract his passionate fans, chaos on a truly operatic level ensues!
