i am a big fan of Margaret Cho and have been following her all over the place... comparing this event to the other ones, it felt alittle short for me.... i know that she is extermely busy with other things and that may have contributed to this show being just OK..... i do love her still and would definitely see her again....

A very fun event to go to on a random Thursday night. Got randomly upgraded to Tier 3, which was nice. Solid comedy. Lead in act was so-so but Margaret made up for it.

This is the first time I have see Margaret in person and the first time I had been at an event in this venue. First, Margaret Cho was wonderful! Funny! Bawdy! Loud! everything you expect having seen her standup on the small screen. The venue The Grove at Anaheim made it a perfectly intimate evening. Small enough that any seat is a good one!

All in all a wonderful event!

Description

Revered for her crass in-your-face style, Margaret Cho burst onto the scene in 1994 and has since become one of the most prolific, critically acclaimed comedians of our time. In 1999, she chronicled her legendary struggles with network executives over her weight and ethnicity into a groundbreaking one-woman show; I’m The One That I Want, praised by Entertainment Weekly as one of the “Great Performances of the Year!”

In her following stand-up concert tours and films Margaret has tackled the axis of evil, homophobia, the joy of bodily functions, and of course, her now world-famous mother.
Margaret Cho’s new show is a healthy mix of new stand-up and live music. In the spirit of Cho’s diverse identity and equally diverse career, Cho Dependent features her burgeoning foray into the realm of comedy music. Cho will be showcasing a few songs from her forthcoming album, Cho Dependent, which features collaborations with Tegan & Sara, Ani DiFranco, Andrew Bird, Jon Brion, Grant Lee Phillips, and more.

Music is a new endeavor for the provocative comedian, who's built a cult following through tours, concert films and TV specials. Cho’s fifth stand up concert film, Beautiful, is now available on Showtime and DVD, and Cho also stars in the new dramatic hit TV series, Drop Dead Diva on Lifetime. Cho’s new stand up show, Cho Dependent, features her trademark raunchy, socially relevant and politically-charged comedy, and also offers a unique chance to see her perform a handful of songs from her new comedy music album, Cho Dependent.
