The Grove is a challenging space to play in, and seating is uncomfortable since dinner tables are set up so that you end up sitting perpendicular to the stage. Certainly you can move your chair, but if it's a full house, it is hard to maneuver so that you are not blocking people.Shawn Colvin & Steve Earle: Songs & Stories, Together On Stage info • Jul 14 2014 star this tip starred

I think it was good that I went in with very low expectations (based on several reviews I heard last year), as I ended up having a good time.
The Tribute to Halloween singer had a lot of energy, I had a great view
from the GA floor, the venue had good sound and lighting, they played a good
and varied setlist and of course there were some very talented musicians
that I've enjoyed seeing over the years.
Most of the audience seemed as impressed as I was, and most of the songs were covered well. The only noticeable mess ups were during the Dead Man's Party finale where he fumbled over some of the words, but it didn't seem to matter as he seemed
to have won most of us over by then.
I would go again next year if they have it again close by. It was at least as enjoyable as an Oingo Boingo tribute band, but even more so because of the band members.
Johnny Vatos’ Tribute To Halloween features former members of Oingo Boingo playing hits of that band and more. Also, Halloween Town’s spooky string quartet, Scary Bone Daddy’s, will be playing the dark haunting music from The Nightmare Before Christmas at the Grove of Anaheim’s haunted plaza.
