One of Rolling Stone's Greatest Guitarists of All Time, Johnny Winter recently passed away. Now, his brother, Edgar Winter, and an all-star lineup of 1960s blues-rock pioneers assemble to pay tribute to Johnny at the Rock 'N' Blues Fest. Get ready for blazing guitar work and electric grooves on jukebox hits like "Johnny B. Goode," "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo," "Hustled Down in Texas," "Free Ride," "Frankenstein," "You Keep Me Hangin' On," "Get Ready," "Train to Nowhere" and many more as the Edgar Winter Band, Vanilla Fudge, Rare Earth's Peter Rivera and Savoy Brown's Kim Simmonds hit the stage with a night of their greatest hits, plus renditions of Johnny Winter's most famous tunes. The Grove is a challenging space to play in, and seating is uncomfortable since dinner tables are set up so that you end up sitting perpendicular to the stage. Certainly you can move your chair, but if it's a full house, it is hard to maneuver so that you are not blocking people.Shawn Colvin & Steve Earle: Songs & Stories, Together On Stage info • Jul 14 2014 star this tip starred

For my first time at the Grove, it was a wonderful way to experience the venue, get to meet Mark and Brian, learn more about Breast Cancer Awareness, purchase a cute top for charity, and hear two bands I enjoy. The ONLY criticism would be that Queen Nation are good enough not to need to have the sound so loud that only earplugs made it bearable and understandable. I do hope this is going to be an annual event. Friends will definately come next time.

About DSB and Queen Nation:
Aptly named after probably the most popular Journey song to date, DSB have assembled a band of great Los Angeles musicians who are all fans of Journey’s music. DSB is committed to staying true to Journey’s legacy while bringing a fresh pulse to the heart of the songs. The artists are no strangers to performing in front of large crowds, having filled popular LA and OC venues to capacity with fans singing along and cheering the great hits of Journey. Once the band hits the stage, you will be amazed by the sound that explodes vintage Journey of yesterday.
Queen Nation, a tribute to Queen, was formed in 2004. Queen Nation’s production of Queen’s greatest hits preserves the image, sound, and stage persona of vintage Queen. The mission of the show is to carry on the musical torch and pay homage to the golden age of Queen concerts. Audiences are amazed at the accuracy of Queen Nation’s live retrospective journey through such Queen songs as “We Will Rock You”, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “We Are The Champion”, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, “You’re My Best Friend”, “Another One Bites The Dust”, “Under Pressure” and many more.
