I really enjoyed it, and both my children (7&9) liked the interactive parts. You can walk through and finish it within a half hour, but if you take your time to really look at the displays and watch the movies you could be there for a few hours.Written on May 26 2009

My 8-year-old loved the interactive displays and being able to move several of the animatronic creatures! The display descriptions were informative too. We all enjoyed our visit. Be aware that there are 2 buildings (both with smallish display areas) that are accessible with the purchase price. Given the half price tickets, it was well worth it.Written on May 18 2009

This was my 1st visit to MUZEO. I chose this event because it was cheap, local and I'm a kid at heart. Parking was free. The museum is part of an attractive new "urban living" area. There was some sort of street fair for kids going on nearby. The museum is small and dimly lit, although that may have been part of the atmosphere. The monsters, beasts and anamatronics are so-so. All the exhibits can be seen in less than a half-hour and are more geared towards children, although the kids there seemed likewise underwhelmed. A few exhibits are interactive; my favorite part were the detailed storyboards. I might give MUZEO another chance. This particular attraction though is not something I'd recommend.Written on May 19 2009

Museum was pretty small but my 10 year old daughter found it really interesting. I enjoyed seeing the history of Anahiem in the other building but I imagine that is there all the time. Make sure you take the time to sit down and see the film first so that you can relate to all the displays. The surrounding area had some nice places to eat and snack.Written on May 25 2009

Description

Academy Award-winning John Cox Creature Workshop takes you on an interactive and up-close, behind-the-scenes look at every stage of its monster-making magic.

A cast of over 30 creatures, including the towering Abominable Snowman, Gorilla from the hit Disney film comedy, George of the Jungle, plus hands-on exhibition devices from movies such as Disney’s Inspector Gadget 2, the enormous Crocodile from the popular 2003 live-action film version of Peter Pan, plus the must-see Megalania, Australia’s largest prehistoric lizard -- and even the mesmerizing x-ray eyes of Junior the Dinosaur.
It’s art and artistry that’s fascinating for both kids and adults. Marvel as the monstrous ideas grow right before your eyes -- from design and storyboard, to maquettes (models), and ultimately to full-sized creatures that are sculpted, molded, finished and animated.
See how animatronics components are designed and engineered to create bones and muscles that bring monsters to life. And if you have the skin for it, you could take the controls like an actual animatronics puppeteer.
