The B52s were awesome! The venue was great too! It's table seating with service. We were able to enjoy drinks and appetizers before the concert.

A fun way to start the weekend! Do know that there is an opening act that starts at 8pm, the main act doesn't start until 9pm.

At first, I was only going to give 2 stars, but ultimately decided on 3 stars. Don't get me wrong, the band was great (as was the opening band Suedehead), and deserves 5 stars. Played a decent mix of new and old stuff, and both hits as well as lesser-known songs. However, it's the first time I've seen them where everybody wasn't standing up and dancing for the whole show. Someone in the tier just in front of my table stood up at the start of the show, and someone behind them immediately started throwing napkins at them :-/ What did people expect, when they go to see a band often described as "one of the greatest party bands of all time"? However, I guess someone could just as easily say that you should expect people at a "dinner theater" would want to sit down throughout the show no matter what. I guess maybe people were thrown off when the setlist wasn't comprised of only the band's greatest hits. Or maybe it's just the way people in "the OC" are . . .

Description

The B-52s have taken to the road in support of their new Eagle Rock Entertainment live album, With The Wild Crowd! — Live In Athens, GA, and will stop at City National Grove of Anaheim on Friday, January 13.

The Wild Crowd—Live In Athens, GA is the first official B-52s live album, a sizzling 90 minute set recorded in the band's hometown on February 11, 2011. The show marked the 34th anniversary of their first-ever concert, Valentine's Day 1977. Wig-wearing, boa-draped, glitter-covered fans came from near and far to celebrate the historic event and turned Athens' Classic Center into a cosmic dancehall. Filmed in high definition, With The Wild Crowd — Live In Athens, GA will also be released on DVD and Blu-Ray in 2012.

Almost thirty-five years and over twenty million albums into their career, there is no doubt as to why the B-52s remain among the most unique and beloved rock stars ever. As the World's Greatest Party Band continues into the 21st century they show no signs of slowing down, serving up all the excitement, fervor and energy of a classic B-52s dance party. Simply said, there is nothing quite like a night on the town with the B-52s.
