One of Rolling Stone's Greatest Guitarists of All Time, Johnny Winter recently passed away. Now, his brother, Edgar Winter, and an all-star lineup of 1960s blues-rock pioneers assemble to pay tribute to Johnny at the Rock 'N' Blues Fest. Get ready for blazing guitar work and electric grooves on jukebox hits like "Johnny B. Goode," "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo," "Hustled Down in Texas," "Free Ride," "Frankenstein," "You Keep Me Hangin' On," "Get Ready," "Train to Nowhere" and many more as the Edgar Winter Band, Vanilla Fudge, Rare Earth's Peter Rivera and Savoy Brown's Kim Simmonds hit the stage with a night of their greatest hits, plus renditions of Johnny Winter's most famous tunes. The Grove is a challenging space to play in, and seating is uncomfortable since dinner tables are set up so that you end up sitting perpendicular to the stage. Certainly you can move your chair, but if it's a full house, it is hard to maneuver so that you are not blocking people.Shawn Colvin & Steve Earle: Songs & Stories, Together On Stage info • Jul 14 2014 star this tip starred
The Killers of Comedy featuring Reverend Bob Levy, Beetle Juice, Iron Sheik, Yucko the Clown, John Tole and Shuli will be bringing their irreverent brand of humor to the Grove of Anaheim.
As regulars of The Howard Stern radio show, The Killers of Comedy has made millions of listeners laugh on a regular basis. Reverend Bob Levy has been the Roast Master for all roasts broadcast on the show and he is a reverend in name only as there is nothing pious about his act. As one of the members of Howard Stern’s “wack pack” and frequent guest of the show, Beetle Juice’s “out of left field” comments, trash talking and off the wall behavior have made him a fan favorite.
Yucko the Clown is also a “wack packer” and is notorious for his hilarious and insulting street interviews. His very eccentric stage act involves filthy jokes and the use of interesting and obscene props. John Tole is an ‘80s pop culture junkie and professional trash talker which is highly influential in his stand up routine. He’s a regular performer in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. A long time caller on the Stern show, Shuli received his big break when was asked to be part of the Howard 100 news team. Shuli has the ability to put a comedic spin on any situation.
