I went into this event expecting a typical Laserium type show accompanied by good Pink Floyd music. I emerged from the theater glowing, having experienced the very best visual and sound experience of my life. I saw the real Pink Floyd at least a dozen times in their prime, as well as several copycat bands with pretty good light shows. I never would have imagined saying that this spectacle beat all the others hands down, including having great seats at Radio City Music Hall in NYC in 1972 for the first live performance of "Dark Side of the Moon." The 3-D effects of these lasers and supporting visual and sound effects was truly amazing and awe inspiring. It was like the first time I experienced Space Mountain at Disneyland. This show was worth 100 times the price.
Paramount's The Pink Floyd LaserSpectacular, the smash hit multi-media laser and light show featuring the music of Pink Floyd, will illuminate City National Grove of Anaheim.
After 25 years of touring, Paramount's LaserSpectacular has become a cult classic, presenting the music of Pink Floyd like you've never seen it before. Surrounded by 10,000 watts of concert quality sound, Pink Floyd's musical legacy continues as the bands' concept music captures the imagination and carries listeners away on a mind-expanding journey driven by cutting edge effects. Colorful lasers and lighting effects parallel the sonic journey as the senses are confronted with an array of glowing visual displays choreographed to the soundtrack during the two hour show.
"Pink Floyd's music is very dramatic and visual," says Paramount's LaserSpectacular Producer Steve Monistere. "You can see or imagine images when you listen to their music. Without any lighting effects at all, there is still a show in your mind. Now imagine using lasers, lighting, video and other special visual effects to interpret what your mind is ‘seeing' and that is why people love this show so much."
Every year Paramount incorporates new elements into the show, so expect new features.
