Set in New York City's Lower East Side, Jonathan Larson's Rent is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, this Broadway hit has become a pop culture phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates with power and passion even 20 years after its debut. Based on Puccini's La Bohème, Rent follows a year in the life of a group of penniless young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. How these young bohemians negotiate their dreams, loves and conflicts provides the narrative to this groundbreaking rock musical. Learn More

We are st time visitors tickets were ready when we got there to the will call window. Theater is a clean, colorful place in the old theater building in Anoka. Easy to find, lots of parking in lot adjacent to building. Seating is excellent. I don't believe there is a bad seat in the house. Lots of Handicapped accessible seating available. The play was true to the story with Mr Potter in a wheel chair. The children were exceptional in their roles as were the grown ups. We will attend more plays there.
This show is recommended for ages 6 and older.
