Have lived in the LA area for almost 50 years and had never been to the Pasadena Arboretum and certainly not the Pasadena POPS. What a wonderful surprise, and especially so because it was hosted by Michael Feinstein. The orchestra was astounding.... he was fantastic and the ambience was wonderful. It was a warm evening (but not too warm). The program was excellent. Lari White was outstanding (bought her CD) Cheyenne Jackson rambled....TMI..couldn't quite get going. When he finally connected he was enjoyable. We have heard him when he was much better. Everyone working there was so friendly and helpful, it was amazing! We are hoping to make it back this season. As for the seats.......Hmmm! We are Red Velvet members and we bought tickets way before they said they were sold out. We ended up so far at the end of the stage, I'm not sure it was worth the money. There were several tables around us with a better sight-line and they were empty. There should be an upgrade service if there are unsold seats (like Goldstar used to have) Definitely need to tell people that you MUST reserve parking (for $10) by WEDNESDAY before the concert if you need to be close. There is free parking in the Westfield Mall Parking Lot and shuttle service from there but it is quite a walk from where they let you off.
All in all I would definitely recommend this venue. It was as good as Hollywood Bowl (and probably better for the price).
