If you've ever felt the uncontrollable urge to burst into song while watching your favorite musicals, then this sing-along to The Sound of Music is for you. The evening begins with your host leading you through a vocal warm-up and judging the costume competition, which you're encouraged to participate in. Then, you'll get a primer on appropriate heckles and accompanying actions to use during the movie, such as hissing at the countess, barking at Rolf and, of course, cheering for Maria. Finally, sit back and enjoy the original 1965 film in glorious color. With the song lyrics on the screen, you won't miss a chance to sing your heart out. Costumes are not compulsory, but they're highly recommended, and you'll be amazed at the inventiveness on display. Learn More

Rebecca Parris and her illustrious trio were the cat's whiskers. They were entertaining, relaxed, great musicianship and rapport with the audience.
The only thing which would have made the concert better would have been chair service.
Quotes & Highlights
- "Parris gives fresh life to standards and a new gleam to superb, lesser-known gems. Her intelligence, class, and masterful musicianship have long been respected among her peers." --allaboutjazz.com
- "Her voice sets her apart from any other vocalist on record today. A mood that transcends the ordinary, that in one moment exudes warmth and is poignant, in another driving hard and swinging." --Shirley Horn
- "Best of all, she sings with power, conviction, originality, total believability. She is that rare bird: the true jazz singer with the soul of an entertainer." --Jazztimes
