If you've ever felt the uncontrollable urge to burst into song while watching your favorite musicals, then this sing-along to The Sound of Music is for you. The evening begins with your host leading you through a vocal warm-up and judging the costume competition, which you're encouraged to participate in. Then, you'll get a primer on appropriate heckles and accompanying actions to use during the movie, such as hissing at the countess, barking at Rolf and, of course, cheering for Maria. Finally, sit back and enjoy the original 1965 film in glorious color. With the song lyrics on the screen, you won't miss a chance to sing your heart out. Costumes are not compulsory, but they're highly recommended, and you'll be amazed at the inventiveness on display. Learn More

This has become part of our annual Thanksgiving celebration! My family looks forward to it every year. My 11 year old twins dress up,sing a long and use all the props! We have a blast! Wouldn't miss it. Crowd control in the lobby is hectic. Glad we were Goldstar members and the staff came right over to us and gave us our tickets...no waiting in the LONG line. Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious!
Adapted from PL Travers' 1934 novel, Mary Poppins premiered in August 1964. "Practically perfect in every way," it earned 13 Academy Award nominations and became Disney's biggest box office success to date. Julie Andrews made Mary Poppins her film debut and nabbed the Oscar, beating out Audrey Hepburn for Best Actress in 1967. After 42 years, Mary Poppins continues to pull lasting magic from its cinematic carpet bag of tricks, while reminding new generations how a simple gift of kindness costs merely tuppence.
This event runs approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.
About the Ticket Supplier: Regent Theatre
The Regent Theatre opened its doors in 1916 as one of Greater Boston's premier vaudeville houses. The venue has undergone many permutations since then and has served the community for 90 years as of October, 2006. In recent years, the Regent Theatre family has been proud to bring back live performances to this historical space and is again becoming a hot spot for theatre and concert goers in the Greater Boston community. Our seating is spacious and comfortable with more- than- ample leg room and the sightlines are great from every seat in the house. Easily accessible by public transportation, we are located in the heart of Arlington Center where there is plenty of free parking after 6pm directly across the street in the municipal lot.
