Well done, well thought through- brought me back to the 70's, 80's, and the past few elections. Go see it and enjoy- but bring a pillow for your back- the temporary Arena Stage is NOT conducive for human anatomy!

He's a good story teller/and after a couple of minutes of "getting his style" the show just gotter better. The discussion afterwards was very interesting.

The play was very creative. I really liked how the actor brought all these various stories together at the end. Very well done play indeed.

A great show and you can't beat the location. In some ways, I wish Arena would keep the Crystal City location and not move back to the renovated quarters. Crystal City is easy to get to (once you've learned the location), with free indoor parking and enough dining choices in that area to add a dinner before the performance...far better than SW D.C.!!

Description

Troubled by the election in 2004 and the health of American democracy, Josh Kornbluth (author of Red Diaper Baby) came to the conclusion that perhaps voting is just not enough. As a result of his distress, Kornbluth created this smart and funny exploration of active citizen participation. Just in time for election season, Citizen Josh weaves a web of entertaining and moving autobiographical tales into a personal quest to examine and engage the fundamentals of democracy. Kornbluth last produced Love & Taxes at Arena and continues his long-time association with Arena's own Associate Artistic Director, David Dower. So before you cast your ballot on November 4th, consider one last perspective from an irreverent, side-splitting and powerful citizen.

About the Ticket Supplier: Arena Stage

Arena Stage today stands as a flagship American theater. Arena Stage was one of the first not-for-profit theaters in the United States, as well as a pioneer of the regional theater movement. It was the first regional theater to transfer a production to Broadway, the first invited by the U.S. State Department to tour behind the Iron Curtain, and the first to receive a Tony Award. Taking a leadership role in extending theater's horizons, Arena Stage has implemented groundbreaking policies and programs, promoting diversity in all aspects of theater, from theatergoing to production.

The Arena Stage legacy of world-class productions includes vast epics, charged dramas, rousing musicals, and probing profiles. From the monumental to the developmental, Arena Stage has helped build the canon of American theater. While they produce American classics, Arena Stage premieres new American plays and supported works in progress. They've nurtured artistic growth and engaged the community, broadening and intensifying the theatrical experience for one and all. And yet, in spite of it all, in their second half-century they see themselves as more fresh, restless and dynamic than ever.
