Julia Nixon has a wonderful voice and a gift for interpreting songs. There were some real gems in her repertoire. Signature Cabaret offers great value and provides an opportunity to see outstanding performances in an intimate setting over a glass of wine or a beer. Unfortunately, Ms. Nixon's performance was marred by the use of a cheesy-sounding electric keyboard with a disco backbeat.Written on Jan 13 2011

Helen Hayes Award-winner Julia Nixon is back at Signature in a return engagement that again showcases her soulful vocal instrument. In the vein of Sarah Vaughan, this powerhouse performer mixes jazz standards in with her own R&B compositions in an unforgettable act.
