went to see King Lear at the Synethics. WOW ! They told the story of King Lear without uttering a word. They did it with dance and physical gesture. Very drammatic... continued

Superb production -- one of their best wordless Shakespeares. The setting and costumes appeared very Fellini-like and were excellent. The emotion conveyed without words bowled me over. Lear going mad was such a powerful experience.

Director Paata Tsikurishvili brings lightness to this dark and violent tale of a king’s descent into madness and his search for humanity. This eye‐popping production, packed with apocalyptic visuals, farce, knife‐play and acrobatics is performed in Crystal City, VA. at the Crystal City Theater.

Overall, Synetic has earned 83 Helen Hayes Nominations and received 21 Helen Hayes Awards, garnering acclaim for its “Silent Shakespeare” repertoire (Hamlet…the rest is silence, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, _Antony and Cleopatra _and Othello).
