The acclaimed Synetic Theater has stunned and impressed audiences and critics alike with their wordless productions of Shakespeare's works, which include the award-winning Hamlet, Othello, Romeo and Juliet and others. Now an intriguing Twelfth Night, this one set in the 1920s, joins their "Silent Shakespeare" repertoire. Synetic co-founders Paata and Irina Tsikurishvili direct and star in the Bard's beloved comic tale. Twelfth Night tells the tale of fraternal twins Viola and Sebastian, separated in a strange new land. Having survived a shipwreck and believing her brother Sebastian has been lost, Viola falls hopelessly in love with Duke Orsino and disguises herself as a man to enter his world so she can be near him. A mix of comedy, tragedy and biting social commentary, this unique production is not to be missed. Learn More

Not Synetic's best work, but still interesting and enjoyable. The piece would've flowed better/been more coherent if the subplot had been simplified or trimmed. However, the costumes, makeup, performers and score were very good. Enjoyed the touches of Fellini and Tim Burton. Making 1 of Lear's daughters a gay son was unexpected, but it worked quite well.

Superb production -- one of their best wordless Shakespeares. The setting and costumes appeared very Fellini-like and were excellent. The emotion conveyed without words bowled me over. Lear going mad was such a powerful experience.
