Renowned song and dance man Danny Kaye's work spanned film, television, stage and music until his death in 1987. Now, as part of a nationwide tour, Brian Childers brings the great entertainer back to life in An Evening with Danny Kaye. This tribute to one of Broadway and Hollywood's greatest showmen is a treat for those who already love Kaye's work, as well as those who are "meeting" him for the first time. Childers has performed in numerous version of the story of Danny Kaye, including in Danny and Sylvia: A Musical Love Story, which was first performed at TACT and won him the Helen Hayes Award and the Mary Goldwater Award. We have been to Teatro La Luna many times before and we enjoyed the presentations, but this time we were disappointed. The acting was not good at all, and the script needs to be polish. Even the title is not in accordance with the theme.
This production is recommended for those ages 15 and older.
