Goldstar Member Tips

  • on Where to Eat
No food/drink allowed inside the theater. Vending machines for intermission.
  • on What to Wear
I would wear slacks and a button-down, at a minimum. Coat & tie is probably a bit much.
  • on Where to Park
Parking was easy, on the street outside the theater.

The characters really gave a lot in this performance, reflecting how each of them struggled with their identity in life. The set was interesting in how it used very little and made it quite functional, and the video was a nice touch. I enjoyed the theatre as well. The 'interlude' music was surprisingly appropriate, and the 'set girls' were cute. This play is a testament not only to Lincoln's omnipresence, but also to how each of us are trying to find ourselves, and how that can be even harder while residing in DC!

My husband and I agreed, one of the best plays we've seen in awhile. Well acted, thematically current, thoughtful and thought provoking if you are an "inside the Beltway" type. Hits home. Street parking was easy because we got there about 15 minutes early. Shirlington and all the many restaurants there are very close by. GO!

Yet another great time at TOTR/Keegan. Wonderful thought-provoking play, very professionally acted. We loved the older man (sorry I don't recall his name) who played the dual roles of homeless guy and fatcat lawyer. Anyone with any experience working in politics or especially speechwriting should get a kick out of this one. I only wish this little-known theatre venue could attract the bigger audiences it deserves for its outstanding productions.

A well-written, timely, and relevant political dram well-performed by all four actors. Tis production was as professional as any drama I've seen on Broadway. Looking forward to Keegan's next production.

Description

Our nation’s capital. Two brothers. Leo, a Capitol Hill speechwriter struggling to stay employed, and Francis, a psychiatric outpatient convinced that he is the reincarnation of the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln.. Leo’s employer, a stunningly mediocre congressman, looks headed for defeat in his re-election bid. But when Francis secretly takes over the speechwriting, the congressman starts sounding heroic, even inspiring. Could it be a renaissance in American politics? A seriously comic look at love and strategy in a city so desperately sane that madness may be the remedy.
