the venue was intimate, with tables that allow you to bring in drinks, perfect for cabaret style setting. Julia was delightful and very expressive; pianist was likewise good.

For starters -- you got the name wrong on your ad for the cabaret. The performer's name is Marc Kudisch -- and his show was fabulous!

August 3, 2011 at 8:00pm: Sandy Bainum: Great Songs Seldom Heard
Straight off her successful New York cabaret debut, songstress Sandy Bainum returns to the Signature stage to celebrate an exceptional, though rarely performed, group of songs by legendary composers. The eclectic collection weaves together the melodies of many decades and musical genres and features tunes by Carly Simon, Ann Hampton Callaway, Stephen Sondheim, Dave Brubeck, Fiona Apple, Marcy Heisler, Zina Goldrich and many others. Joining Sandy is her award-winning musical director, Lanny Meyers and Jay Leonhart on bass.

August 6, 2011 at 9:30pm: Revenge of the Understudies
Signature’s understudies take the stage. Featuring performances by a host of talented performers who have understudied at Signature this past season including Jonathan Atkinson (Molokov in Chess), Bill Diggle (Max in Sunset Boulevard), Katie Grace Heidbreder (Louise in A Fox on the Fairway), Madeline Botteri (Side by Side by Sondheim), Gia Mora (Norma in Sunset Boulevard), Christopher Mueller (Freddie in Chess), Gannon O’Brien (Swing for Chess), Kirstin Reigler (Betty in Sunset Boulevard), Tim Rogan (Side by Side by Sondheim), Rachel Schur (Marie in And The Curtain Rises) and Nadine Zahr (Side by Side by Sondheim).
