It was intresting on the views of black and whites pertaining to relationship. I laugh but felt sad too. Overall, it was a great well played out play.

The play was phenomenal! The cast were all very talented and the play was engaging with its wittiness, stories, character development, and plot.

4 STARS!!! Absolutely. 'Stick Fly' was intelligent, thought provoking and controversial. A must see for people of all ethnic backgrounds as well as both genders. You'll laugh. You'll cry and most of all you'll walk away with a few lessons in racism, classism and the importance of fatherhood. The cast even stayed after the show for a post show discussion. My only question for them was, when is 'Stick Fly' becoming a major motion picture? Hopefully soon.

Description

Race and privilege intersect in this thought-provoking and lively modern family comedy. One lazy summer weekend, Kent LeVay invites his fiancée, Taylor, to meet his parents at their luxurious Martha's Vineyard summer home. Taylor, under the microscope and unaccustomed to the surrounding wealth, challenges the household dynamic. The family ties rapidly unravel when Kent's womanizing older brother surprises everyone with his white girlfriend. Conflict and dysfunction ensue as the household vigorously airs their long-secret dirty linens along with the drapes. Be a fly on the wall as this exciting new American voice, playwright Lydia Diamond (The Bluest Eye), astutely examines African-American social aristocracy.

About the Ticket Supplier: Arena Stage

Arena Stage today stands as a flagship American theater. Arena Stage was one of the first not-for-profit theaters in the United States, as well as a pioneer of the regional theater movement. It was the first regional theater to transfer a production to Broadway, the first invited by the U.S. State Department to tour behind the Iron Curtain, and the first to receive a Tony Award. Taking a leadership role in extending theater's horizons, Arena Stage has implemented groundbreaking policies and programs, promoting diversity in all aspects of theater, from theatergoing to production.

The Arena Stage legacy of world-class productions includes vast epics, charged dramas, rousing musicals, and probing profiles. From the monumental to the developmental, Arena Stage has helped build the canon of American theater. While they produce American classics, Arena Stage premieres new American plays and supported works in progress. They've nurtured artistic growth and engaged the community, broadening and intensifying the theatrical experience for one and all. And yet, in spite of it all, in their second half-century they see themselves as more fresh, restless and dynamic than ever.
