An enjoyable evening ... the seating is intimate ... and the singing and staging was excellent ... a bit/lot disturbing subject matter ... but intersting ... and seeing the actors up close, got you more into the story ...
First rate show with a first rate cast (not just the stars but also the supporting players). As expected, the music was incredible and it's a crime that The Visit is not as well known. A big Bravo to Kander and Ebb and especially Signature Theater.
Chita Rivera, George Hearn and the entire cast gave a superb performance. The Signature Theatre is a perfect venue for musicals -- our seats were so close to the stage. What a treat it was to introduce my daughter to the legendary Ms. Rivera!!!
The acting, set, and choreography were wonderful but the story left such a bad taste that it over shadowed the rest.
The play was very enjoyable. Some of the voices were outstanding and the acting was very good as well. The subject of the play was extremely thought-provoking.
Performances and singing were fantastic but I wasn't wild about the story. Nevertheless I'm happy I attended.
It was a fabulous production, beautifully staged and acted, but also an extremely depressing story line.
What a treat to see two consummate professionals doing what they do well. It was a tight production from every aspect, and well-suited to the Signature space.
Wonderful performance all around: professional, brilliantly timed, acted, played, sung, and danced. Loved it. That said, it's a dark and challenging piece --don't be fooled by the notion that it's 'just a musical'.

The show was great! I thought Ms. Rivera was stunning and outstanding. As a dancer in my younger days, it was a thrill to see her perform in person. The daughter and the Mayor too were excellently cast! Very enjoyable. I will definately go back to Signature.
It was truly a New York performance .A mixture of Sondheim and Brecht musical. All seats were good.

This was my first time at the Signature Theatre and the venue is wonderful. What a thrill to see such top-name actors in such an intimate setting.

Chita Rivera (Claire) created the role of Claire in the original production of The Visit at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago. An accomplished and versatile actress/singer/dancer, Rivera has won two Tony Awards as Best Leading Actress in a Musical (Kiss of the Spider Woman and The Rink) and received seven additional Tony nominations. She recently starred in the Broadway and touring productions of The Dancer’s Life, a dazzling new musical celebrating her spectacular career, written by Terence McNally and directed by Graciela Daniele. Rivera received the coveted Kennedy Center Honor in Washington, DC, in December 2002, and is the first Hispanic ever chosen to receive this award. She recently starred in the revival of the Broadway musical Nine with Antonio Banderas. She trained as a ballerina (from age 11) before receiving a scholarship to the American School of Ballet from legendary George Balanchine. Rivera’s first appearance (age 17) was in the chorus of Call Me Madam. Her electric performance as Anita in the Broadway premiere of West Side Story (1957) brought her stardom, which she repeated in London. Her career is highlighted by starring roles in Bye Bye Birdie, Chicago, Jerry’s Girls and Mr. Wonderful and the original Broadway casts of Guys and Dolls, Can-Can, Seventh Heaven.
